George Munoz Receives Spirit of Bipartisanship Award
George Munoz was one of ten New Mexico state lawmakers honored May 25 by New Mexico First for his exceptional leadership and bipartisan contributions to our government.
The awards highlighted the annual First Forum lecture series in Albuquerque, and this year New Mexico First hosted keynote speaker Cokie Roberts discussing “The Politics of Good Government.” Roberts is best known for her work on ABC and National Public radio. She was joined at the event by her ABC colleague Sam Donaldson who served as moderator for the evening.
Donaldson read this tribute to State Senator Munoz:
“George Munoz has already established himself as a state senator who listens carefully, weighs both sides on the issues, and bases his votes on facts, not along party lines. The Democrat from Gallup is strong in his convictions but he won considerable support from both parties because of George’s down-to-earth nature and friendly manner. Because of his long-standing roots as a Gallup business man, he concentrated his efforts this session on solving infrastructure problems in his district and creating education and economic opportunities for all New Mexicans.”
