New Mexico First Will Facilitate Early Childhood Development Community Meetings Around the State

New Mexico First will facilitate special lunch meetings in Taos, Farmington, Las Cruces and Clovis to learn more about statewide coordination in a comprehensive early childhood care and education system in New Mexico. High quality early childhood care and education can substantially influence our children’s success or failure later in life. This issue has a direct impact on the economic development of our state, the strength of our families, and the quality of life in our communities. It is important that parents, early childhood providers, civic leaders, business leaders, and policymakers share their thoughts about how the 2011 New Mexico Early Childhood Care and Education Act can meet the needs of children in their communities and provide opportunities for the future.

The meetings are convened by: NM Early Childhood Development Partnership, NM Children, Youth, and Families Department and NM Business Roundtable.

Legislator Co-hosts: Taos: Senator Carlos R. Cisneros Farmington: Representative Thomas Taylor and Representative Ray Begaye Las Cruces: Senator Stephen H. Fischmann and Senator Cynthia Nava Clovis: Senator Clinton D. Harden, Jr.
