New Mexico First Honors the Memory of Lisa Breeden Garcia

Lisa Breeden Garcia was a vibrant, smart, amazingly capable woman. A long-time member of New Mexico First, she sat on our board for over a decade as the staff representative of U.S. Senator Pete Domenici. This year, Lisa became a key consultant to our organization, managing several research and media projects. She was a valuable member of our team, and a trusted friend.

In her career, Lisa was a news director, political staffer, champion for mental health, policy analyst, and energetic community leader. She even wrote a children’s book, released last year, If a Dog Could Blog.

Lisa died December 15 of cancer. She was 56. She is survived by her husband, Orlando Garcia. We'll miss you, Lisa.
