Tim Keller Receives Spirit of Bipartisanship Award

Tim Keller was one of ten New Mexico state lawmakers honored May 25 by New Mexico First for his exceptional leadership and bipartisan contributions to our government.

The awards highlighted the annual First Forum lecture series in Albuquerque, and this year New Mexico First hosted keynote speaker Cokie Roberts discussing “The Politics of Good Government.” Roberts is best known for her work on ABC and National Public radio. She was joined at the event by her ABC colleague Sam Donaldson who served as moderator for the evening.

Donaldson read this tribute to Keller:

“Tim Keller is a freshman state senator from Albuquerque who demonstrates that it takes collaboration to produce meaningful legislation.  He initiated numerous actions in the 2011 legislature as the lead Democrat with Republican colleagues to bring about bills for jobs creation, business tax breaks, and sweeping state investment reform. In fact two of his bills received unanimous support in the legislature. He has successfully pushed twenty bills into law including a solar tax credit, community schools initiative, unemployment support and economic incentive reform.”
