Nonprofit Sector Strategic Planning Summit

Nonprofit Sector Strategic Planning Summit

Date: 14-JUN-2016

Time: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Location: New Mexico Roadrunner Food Bank offices, 5840 Office Blvd NE, Albuqueruqe, NM 87109

New Mexico nonprofits assist thousands of our community members daily, while providing resources and services that contribute significantly to our state’s economy. They need vision and working solutions to tackle the most challenging issues they face. The broader their network, the more powerful their response. For this reason, the CEO Nonprofit Roundtable contacted New Mexico First to assist them in designing and convening a Nonprofit Sector Strategic Planning Summit that will bring leaders from around New Mexico together to discuss ways of building bridges within the nonprofit sector as well as between nonprofits and their for-profit and governmental peers.

This one-day event will bring together key stakeholders for a consensus driven deliberation to develop strategies that enhance the nonprofit sector as a whole, including:

  • Increasing knowledge among the general public, funders, boards, and the media about the positive impact nonprofits have on the state’s economy and quality of life, as well as the essential safety net services they provide.
  • Determining how the nonprofit sector can provide a major leadership role in strengthening New Mexico and its people.
  • Laying the initial groundwork for networks between the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, as well as the nonprofit and governmental sectors.
  • Creating a concrete, actionable platform of recommendations for nonprofits, funders, and the private sector. The platform will be published in a public report.

Who Should Attend?

The roughly 100 participants will come from urban, rural, and tribal communities, and will include nonprofit professionals, foundations, businesses, and government.

Because we need a balance of stakeholders, attendance is by invitation only. All attendees must agree to think deeply and strategically about the nonprofit sector as a whole. Thus, no one should attend the Nonprofit Sector Strategic Planning Summit from the perspective of advancing the needs of a particular charity, region, or social cause.

Because space is limited, we ask you sign up as soon as possible. We respectfully request that invitees do not register with the intent to send a proxy. If you sign up but need to cancel, please contact New Mexico First as soon as possible.

What Happens at the Summit?

Professionals will facilitate consensus-driven discussion among small groups, recording ideas and working with the group to clarify and prioritize a set of concrete, actionable recommendations.

What Happens after the Summit?

An implementation team will convene to move the recommendations forward.
